THE NEW BLOG: An Introduction

I've wanted to start a writing blog for a long time now. So here it is in its pure, untouched form. I wish I had started it earlier when I was backpacking in Europe. Many interesting stories came from that and I'm sure they'll pop up once and awhile on here.

I've been in S. Korea now for the last 4 months now (NOTE: I'll be heading home in the middle of September for 2 weeks). I don't even know where to start about talking about Korea. Its definitly an amazing experience and I recommend these types of experiences to anyone to try. I feel like travel really opens your eyes to the raw truth of the world. We don't need journalists to do that for us.

So what do I like about living in Korea:
1. Korean Food--- WOW! I never expected Korean food to be so delicious.
2. Transportation--- You can get (almost) anywhere here by bus. We haven't even thought about owning a car here.
3. The People--- Amazingly friendly. Being a foreigner is like being a movie star here.
4. Weather--- Had to put this on here even though its not that great. I'm just glad I missed the hot a** summer in NC this year.
5. Living expense--- is awesome. Its awesome just to go out and get a full meal for $5 or less.

The Bads (okay, I never said it was perfect. These are things definitly better in the states):
1. Western food--- Korean food is amazing. But its difficult (Impossible is probably a better word) to find quality Western food. The mouth-watering list: cheese, salami, berries (blue, black, rasp), micro-brew beer, Bojangles (guilty), and good coffee.
2. Driving--- Probably the worst driving on the planet of Earth.
3. Movie-star Foreigner status--- Not always bad but people staring at me often can get uncomfortable.

All and all, Korea is fantastic! And its getting better and better the more I'm learn the language.
